We would like to inform you of important updates regarding pre-orders on our site.

On April 23, 2025 we made the difficult decision to temporarily pause all new pre-orders on GoodSmileUS.com and delay shipments of products entering the United States. Since the release of this notice, the tariff environment has been ever-changing and we have been weighing the best options to move forward. 

After careful consideration, we have decided to reinstate pre-orders with the following conditions:

  • Pre-orders placed beginning today on May 21, 2025 at 8:00pm PT and for the foreseeable future will have an “Estimated Tariff Fee” added to the total order amount.

  • Should the tariff fee decrease at the time the order is ready for shipment, customers will receive an email notice and the order total will automatically update to reflect the lower fee.

  • However, should the tariff fee increase at the time the order is ready for shipment, customers will receive an email notice and the order total will automatically update. Customers will have the option to cancel their order within 7 days after receiving the email notification.

FAQ

“I am worried about tariffs. Can I cancel my pre-order?”
Our normal cancellation policy still applies — all sales are final. However, if your specific order is directly impacted by a higher tariff surcharge at the time of shipment, you will receive advance notice and have the option to cancel your order before it is processed.

“I’m outside of the US. — does this affect me too?”
At this time, all orders placed through Goodsmileus.com are fulfilled through our U.S. warehouse. This means international orders will have the U.S. tariff surcharge added. Should we be able to ship direct from overseas the estimated U.S. tariff surcharge would be removed before your order is charged. Please note, for customers ordering from outside of the US, any customs or duties from your country may still apply. 

“Some items are made in Japan (like in the Tottori factory). Will these be affected?”
If the country of origin of your item is updated to a country with lower or potentially no tariffs at the time of your order, the tariff charge would be updated to reflect the new rate at the time of shipment. 

“I just placed a pre-order, how will I know what the tariff rate will be at the time of shipment?”
As the tariff situation is ever changing, we are unable to give a concrete rate for your item until the item is ready to ship. Should the item have a lower rate than the initial estimated rate on your order, we will automatically reduce the total of your order. Should the rate increase from your initial estimated rate on your order, we will reach out with the option to cancel your order before we proceed with shipment. 

“I placed an in-stock order, will my order have a tariff charge?”
In-stock items currently do not have any additional tariff charge as they are shipping from our U.S. fulfillment center. For customers ordering from outside of the US, any customs or duties may still apply. 

“I received a notice that my pre-order has higher fees”
If you received this notice you’ll have 7 days to cancel your order before it ships at the higher price. 

“I received a notice that my pre-order has lower fees”
If you received this notice, no further action is needed, your order will automatically be adjusted to the lower price before it ships. 

“What about my pre-order that I have that was ordered before the tariffs?” Should there still be a tariff in place at the time of shipment for your item, you will be notified of the additional tariff fee and be provided the option to cancel your order.

We would like to inform you of important changes to pre-orders on our site.

Due to the rapid and ongoing shifts in international trade policy and the resulting uncertainty around U.S. tariffs, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily pause all new pre-orders on Goodsmileus.com. In addition, we will be delaying shipments of products entering the United States until further notice.

This decision was not made lightly. The unpredictable nature of the current tariff environment has created significant challenges in both cost and logistics, and we want to ensure that we can continue providing the level of service and transparency you expect from us.

If any of your existing pre-orders are delayed beyond their expected release timelines, we will contact you directly with more details and available options.

You may have noticed recent price adjustments on our site. These reflect the current tariff conditions. However, should the situation improve before your item is ready to ship, we will adjust your order to reflect a lower price accordingly.

As noted, we are temporarily holding off on outbound shipments for future pre-orders that have not yet arrived in the United States. Once this situation becomes more manageable, we will resume normal fulfillment. Should tariffs still be in effect at the time of shipment, and if a fee must be added to your order, we will provide ample notice — including the option to cancel should you prefer not to proceed. However, there is no action required at this time.
